ps3 reliability

how reliable do think this console is? i know a few friends with these that had to send them in for repair, just getting your take

Mine's been great so far, I've had mine for just over a year now.

i certainly thought my brothers ps3 would outlast my 360. how bigs your list of games?

No problem with mine, so far. 10 months running strong.

you got a intercooler on yours? or are you runnin it stock lol

Stock. I need to get one, though. The fan kicks on relatively quick, even while playing a Blu-Ray.

if you get one id recommend getting a pelican intercooler that goes on the cd end of the unit. my brother first got the nyko one which surrounds the whole thing, and gave him nothing but problems.

Cool. If it ever starts overheating, I'll look into one, but, like I said, the fan has been doing it's job so far.

its funny how the slim ps2 didnt really have that much of (or none) of a fan on it, yet they would never break. at least in my expierience

LOL, yeah, mine is almost 3 years old and still runs like a champ, when I need it.

lol are you kidding? They had drive issues, or at least the ones we had did. The magnet would get thrown off and all our disc's would get nice big scratches all the way around them

i got couple of old rpg games that i play on it. id play them on my brothers ps3(has the 80gb model) but the file thats on my ps2's memory card is too good to quit playing on it

my friend had the problem with the big one also.. I just don't lie PS2's.. bad experience with them. So far microsoft has been really reliable for me.. *knocks on wood*.. my Xbox lasted a good 6 years.

same with my friend. had it since 2001. works great still

My cooling system failed and it died.. now it sits next to my computer waiting for me to mod the shit out of it and make it a completely custom 360 with Xbox externals.

My brother's first PS2 lasted 1 year before the drive went. His second did the same thing within months. My friend's PS2 did the same thing but lasted a good 4 years.. which was surprising considering how shitty he took care of it.

I've actually fucked up a game once in a slim PS2 when I threw the controller at it and hit the lid. Oh, yeah, the controller lost the R2 button and was splitting, too. But, I still love my PS3. I actually like the way it looks, too, so I keep all nice and clean so it will stay nice and shiny:D
